Emeria M-Mwanga
DR EMERIA MUGONZIBWA-MWANGA, the BUDEFO Director for Community Services Programmes, is a holder of basic degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Dar es Salaam, and has a PhD qualification in Medicine (Orthodontics) from the Katholike University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She is currently a lecturer, Clinician and the head, Department of Orthodontics, Paedodontics & Community Dentistry, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
Emeria has written more than 50 publications in the form of abstracts, reports, book chapters and Journal articles on various areas of her profession which can be accessed by searching her name through various online search engines. She is a member of a number of professional and/or community service associations including Tanzania Dental Association TDA); International Association of Dental Research (IADR); Medical Association of Tanzania (MAT); Tanzania Public Health Association (TPHA); Medical Women Association of Tanzania (MEWATA); Netherlands Alumni Association of Tanzania (NAAT); and Rotary International.
Dr. Emeria A. Mugonzibwa-Mwanga participates in several committees and leadership positions at national and international levels. She is happily married to Aloys Mwanamwana Mwanga, and is proudly Tanzanian, African and a mother of two young men and three ladies. She is fluent in English, Kiswahili and her vernacular, Kihaya.
Emeria has a unique passion for the development of Bukoba as is demonstrated by her participation in various efforts and/or committees on Bukoba development issues. Just to mention a few, she was the secretary of the Dar es Salaam based fund raising committee for the Josiah Kibira University College (JoKUCo) of Tumaini University Makumira; a founder and chair for the four year old non-governmental organization, Maruku Tunaweza Women Group composed 80+ ladies born, married and/or relocated to Maruku but currently living in Dar es Salaam.
